Brown Swiss calf - bull - for sale
My Number 86 cow was caught trying to have her calf this morning. She was three weeks early so it took me by surprise. I assisted her by gently pulling on this calfs legs so I could lower him to the ground without her dropping him. Normally cows lay down to calve but sometimes they just fail to lay down. The video below is moments after he was born, as you can see she is very interested in licking him off. Cows lick the afterbirth off to get them dry and to stimulate circulation so the calf will want to stand and suck. It is very important to get the new born calf fed as soon as possible.
