Brown Swiss Calves

Yep,  I had another surprise this morning.  My cow #77 had a heifer calf during the night.  Sure glad she didn't have any problems.

This is a photo of the new calf about 2 hours later in her new home.  She is certainly a big one.  Does anyone have a suggestion for a name?  Her sire is DigDug.


This is a photo of the bull calf that I assisted coming into the world yesterday.  A photo of him entering the world was posted yesterday and you will find it further down on the blog.

This is Xena #78.  She is currently 10 days overdue and the last cow I have to freshen (give birth) until the end of September.  I hope she gives us a fine heifer calf but the odds are against it as late as she is.  I may find her with a calf in the morning - who knows?
