Mtn Grove VFW Charity Bingo

    Comrade   H. D. Kingsland, MMCS, USN ret. has been VFW Post 3770's main Pull-Tab salesman for over ten years.
He is a charter member of Post 3770 which was granted a charter in Nov of 1979. He has served  twice as Commander, once for two years and once for one year.  Comrade Kingsland has also served as District 18 Commander and spent many years as an Inspector and as District Adjutant.
    Comrade Kingsland joined the US Navy in 1955 and served on many ships during his 21 year career.  The ships he served on, in order, are : USS Spangler DE-692, USS Shangri-La CVA-38, USS John S McCain  DL-3, USS Dennis J Buckley DDG-808, USS Maddox DD-731 (He was on the Maddox when she was attacked by communist forces on Aug 2, 1964 which became know as the Gulf of Tonkin incident), USS Alfred A Cunningham DD-752, USS Virgo AE-30, USS Keppler DD-765, and the USS Rathbourne DE-1057.

He is also my Stepfather
