Kelley's Dairy Learns Again
Yesterday the guys at the VFW Webcom Forum added categories to all of the 8500 blogs in the network. I had to go through and categorize my stories at Mtn Grove VFW, District 18 VFW and Department of Mo VFW that I maintain.
Marvin has had me learning new things about playing with the template so I thought I would add "Categories" to this blog. I had noticed that it was in the "Playtime" blog so I went into that template and figured out what I would need and then stole it from there by copying and pasting to a wordpad document and then opening up the template here and experimented with the proper place to put it into the template.
I had already categorized a couple of items yesterday, so when I previewed the template changes - VIOLA - it was there complete with the two categories I had made yesterday. I will be adding more categories and adding to the two that are there.
The advantage of being able to categorize entries will be that I can put all that are basically the same subject in one place. The entries will still be on the main blog but when you click on a particular category only things that have been placed in that category will show up. The newest will always be on top. Thus - Brown Swiss Cows and Calves will only have Brown Swiss Cows and Calves stories, Hillcrest Farms will only have stories concerning Hillcrest Farms. I will make a Family category, a Garden category, Making Hay category and so on and so forth.
