Corned Beef and Pitch

This is the scrumptious meal that Mary had prepared for us when we arrived at Dawson.  Glinda and I had never had "Corned Beef and Cabbage" before so we traveled to Dawson to give it a try. I must say it was great.  Mary had a homemade peach pie for dessert to top it off.  I have never experienced a bad meal that Mary prepared.  We got to talking about corned beef and were wondering how it was prepared so after a little searching this morning I found some links that explain it real well.  The first is the simplest  and most straightforward one but the others are worth looking at also.

Following the meal, we decided to play some 'Pitch'.  Marvin, the Concrete Hillbilly
and I were partners.  I was the scorekeeper so we are the "W" in the below photos and we played against Glinda and Clarence (they were "T")  the first 3 games (score sheet #1), Glinda and Mary the next 3 games (score sheet #2) and then Glinda and Clarence again the last 3 games (score sheet #3).

As you can see from looking at the scores, Marvin and I did not have a good evening, winning only two games out of 9 total.
But we all did have fun although Marvin was hoping I would lose these score sheets before I got home.  Told me that I did not have to 'blog' about everything every time .

How can you be 56 years old and have never had corn beef? I never go a Saint Patrick Kelley's Day without it. Clifford Lorett came to the hospital 21 years ago tomorrow to take me to the cafeteria for corn beef and cabbage.
