Brown Swiss Calves at Kelley's Dairy
The calves are more interested in eating their evening meal of grain than they are in me. I like to stand and watch them eat heartily. This ethanol bs has caused the price of grain to soar and it costs more each day to feed them. I used to be able to buy the feed for a little over $140 a ton and now it is up to $280 per ton. That is a huge increase driven by the speculators buying the corn. I wish the dern speculators had to actually take physical possession of the corn when they purchased it.
