Injured Brown Swiss Cow
This young cow injured herself going over a fence looking for a boy bovine. The top photo was taken just after I had washed her and the bottom one was right when she gave her milk down. There will be no saving that quarter as she has cut herself clean into the milk vein. I had never had one cut herself this deep before. We will keep it clean and treat it in order to stave off any infections but we will not be able to milk that quarter again. We will still be able to milk the other quarters though.
