Kelley's Dairy Celebrates
July 22, 2008 was our 34th wedding anniversary. Glinda and I were married in Miami, Oklahoma in 1974 at Vern's Marriage Parlor. We had risen early to get the milking done and travel to Miami to get married and arrived back home by evening chore time. We told no one where we were going or what we intended to do.
When Glinda entered the barn the morning of July 22, 2008 I wished her a "Happy Anniversary" and she replied with a"Thank you" and no more was said about it. After getting the chores done and waiting for the feed delivery truck I headed to the hay field as we had lots of hay to get baled. While I was getting equipment ready Glinda had gotten Mitzi and her children to bring her to the field with a meal for me. I was able to get started and they went back home.
Robert K was there raking the hay and I went to baling the first field we had to do for the day. A few hours later as we were just about done with the field a storm approached so we hesitated about starting the next field and just tried to get the one finished before we got wet. While I was on the last windrow it started to sprinkle but I got it finished. We got the equipment parked and headed out.
It was just about 2:30 p.m. and I needed to go to Edgeller and Harper Tractor and Equipment in Cabool and did not feel like riding by myself so I called down to Mitzi's and got "Flo" to ride with me. I picked up the parts I needed and we headed back home.
The scene below was what greeted us when we arrived:

Francis and Jacob were in the floor putting together a new "grill" that our children had gone together and purchased for us for our anniversary. Thank you goes out from Glinda and I to our children and their spouses. We are blessed with great children and they have made excellent choices in their respective spouses. We love each and every one of them and I cannot brag on them too much.
Anyway back to the story. The photo below is the new "grill" getting carried outside by Jacob and Glinda.

And now below is the new "grill" being inspected by Francis and Glinda and sitting beside the old one. It is easy to see that the new one is much larger.

And now for "The Rest of the Story"
A new grill requires testing so Glinda and I hurried to chore and get back to the house to cook pork chops for everyone. Luckily Amanda had some pork steak to bring over as we had not enough pork chops handy. We grilled enough for 9 of us to eat. Glinda prepared a bunch of fresh corn-on-the-cob to go with the meat and other good things. We had a great meal and a great time. All were gone by 11:30 p.m. and we got to go to bed. All in all a great Anniversary.
