Mama Cow Licking Calf



Right after a calf is born the mother cow gets up and starts licking the 'afterbirth' (placenta)  from the 'newborn'  to clean,dry and stimulate circulation and get the calf moving.  It is not usually long before the calf is up wanting to suck 'mama'
