Brand new calf
It was just before dark Monday evening when we found this cow with her new calf. It turned out to be a heifer calf, which is good. You can see it is still wet and has a yellowish tinge from the afterbirth. When I went to get her Tuesday morning she was up and running around and was able to walk all the way to the barn by herself. Mother and daughter are both doing great.
